Fisher Tull Endowed Music Scholarship

The Fisher Tull Endowed Music Scholarship was established by the Department of Music at Sam Houston State University and the Tull family and friends in memory of Dr. Fisher Tull to provide financial assists to deserving students. Dr. Tull’s career encompassed a broad spectrum of musical achievements as a performer, arranger, composer, conductor, educator and administrator. He joined the faculty of Sam Houston State University in 1957 and served as chair of the Department of Music from 1965 to 1982. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards at a minimum of $1,000 each to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. Scholarship awards shall not exceed the earnings of the endowment. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
