Greg Lundgren Memorial Athletic Endowed Scholarship

The Greg Lundgren Memorial Athletic Endowed Scholarship was established by John and Nancy L. Hoyt of Waco, Texas, in honor of the memory and legacy of Greg Lundgren. For 23 years, Greg served as a coach and teacher at Columbus High School in Columbus, Texas, where he positively impacted the lives of countless students through his dedication to education and athletics.

A passionate athlete and mentor, Greg embodied the values of leadership, perseverance, and sportsmanship. This scholarship was created to recognize and support students who demonstrate a similar commitment to athletic achievement and personal excellence.

John Hoyt, a 1975 graduate of Sam Houston State University, and Nancy Hoyt, a 1979 graduate of SHSU, established this endowment to celebrate Greg’s enduring influence and to help future generations of students pursue their educational goals.
