Linda Chatham Mason Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship honors the life and legacy of Linda Mason, a devoted educator and community member. Linda grew up in Huntsville, Texas, where her father & mother worked for the U.S. Forest Service. Her passion for education began early, and she pursued her dream of becoming a teacher by attending Sam Houston State University—an opportunity made possible because she earned a scholarship herself. Linda went on to teach early childhood education, primarily first grade, serving in Deer Park ISD, Willis ISD and Klein ISD. She and her husband, Bill, lived in the Conroe area for many decades, where they owned and operated a local business. Linda worked at the business when she was not at school. Family was central to her life—they raised two children and are proud grandparents to several grandchildren. This scholarship reflects Linda’s lifelong commitment to education, hard work, and family values, and it aims to provide the same kind of opportunity that changed her life..
