Sam Houston Museum Scholarship in Honor of Peter Roussel
Peter Roussel served in the White House under Presidents Gerald R. Ford, Ronald Regan and George H. W. Bush in many roles from Staff Assistant to Press Secretary. After his time in the White House, Roussel became the executive vice president and managing partner of Neumann Roussel Public Relations. He used his experience to teach the next generation about public relations and press-presidency interactions. Mr. Peter Roussel embodied SHSU’s motto: “The measure of a life is its service.” Through his class, Priority One, we had the opportunity to write the children’s book The Story of The Sam Houston Chickens. This project now continues Mr. Roussel’s legacy of service by supporting the Mass Communication program through this scholarship
