Dr. Keith Jenkins Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Gerry Keith Jenkins whom everyone knows as Dr. Keith Jenkins was born in 1945 in Houston Texas. He lived in Houston where he attended school and graduated from Waltrip High School in 1963. He went on to attend the University of Houston and began teaching math at Black Jr. High. Keith was a hard worker even in college. As he finished his bachelor’s degree, he began working towards his next goal which was to become an attorney. Keith drove a school bus route before and after school, taught school during the day, and attended law school at night. He graduated from South Texas College of Law. After practicing law for a while in 1980 Dr. Jenkins began teaching at Sam Houston State University. He went on to teach a variety of classes including business law and entrepreneurship and others for over 30 years. On top of teaching courses, Dr. Jenkins dedicated many years to organizing and coordinating graduation ceremonies.
