Mr. Malcolm Nance Endowed Scholarship

Malcolm Nance has a long history in farming, growing up he and his family grew rice. Mr. Nance graduated High School in 1969 after graduation he attended Stephen F. Austin for 2 years and then transferred to Sam Houston State where he received a Bachelor of Science in agricultural education. After his Bachelors he wanted to further his education and in 1974 he graduated with a Masters in education toward agricultural education. After graduating with his Masters Mr. Nance managed a small rice farm for two years. After farming, he went on to get a job with ExxonMobil where he later retired after 27 years with the company. Today Mr. Nance is still farming and growing hay. Mr. Nance is proud of the agricultural education he received from SHSU and hopes that his gift will help inspire many current and future Bearkats with their passion for agriculture.
