The Signal Grace Project Adult Student Scholarship

The Signal Grace Project is a community organization in Nashville, Tennessee, created by Cindy Brewer, a 1993 Sam Houston State University graduate. Cindy’s mother, Betty, a devoted mother of two, abandoned her college plans for marriage at a young age. She later became an administrator at Sam Houston State University, which became a fulfilling 27-year career. She always regretted not finishing her college studies at Vanderbilt University. She understood that deciding to return to school as an adult with competing life obligations is usually challenging for people labeled as ‘older’ or’ returning’ students. This scholarship is to assist these non-traditional students in fulfilling their college dreams.
