John Lee McMaster Criminal Justice Scholarship

John McMaster is quite proud of his heritage, which he has researched and “investigated” thoroughly, dating back to his great-great-grandfather James Wallace McMaster. John credits his success and drive in life to his heritage passed on by his great-great-grandfather, great-grandfather, and grandfather, as well as his parents, Archie Vinable McMaster and Maria Christine McNeil! McMaster. John Lee McMaster received his Bachelor of Science degree in criminology and corrections in 1972 and a Master of Arts degree in criminology and corrections in 1974 from Sam Houston State University. He came to the criminal justice school in his last two years of college and worked construction full time, taking night classes. Upon graduation, John worked in criminal justice. He was a private investigator for 40 years, working white collar crime cases for prosecution and missing children cases, both domestically and internationally. His later years involved deep background investigations. He currently runs the McMaster Ranch, founded by his grandfather Eugene Lee McMaster in 1906.
