Tom and Patsy Freeman Endowed Scholarship in Entrepreneurship

The Tom and Patsy Freeman Endowed Scholarship in Entrepreneurship was established by Tom and Patsy Freeman of Huntsville, Texas. Tom and Patsy Freeman are long-time entrepreneurs in the Huntsville community. Having owned several businesses – Town and Country Cleaners for more than 30 years, Scotsman Storage, L.L.P., Galilee Investments, L.L.P., and Freeman Investments, L.L.P., a real estate development company, they still manage to devote a considerable amount of time representing Sam Houston State University exceptionally in the community. Tom’s service to Sam Houston State began as a student engaged in numerous activities campus-wide, resulting in his selection as a member of Who’s Who in America’s Colleges and Universities in his senior year. Tom also established his talent as a leader and was chosen Commander of the 1,200 man Corps of Cadets – the highest honor attainable in the ROTC program. What started as simply a service of providing quality cleaned and pressed garments, Freeman and his wife Patsy found the business as a means to also connect with the Huntsville community in meaningful ways including the establishment of ‘Coats for Kids’ an annual initiative that provides winter coats to local children in need. Because of his commitment to the community, Freeman received the SHSU Alumni Service Award in 2007, followed by the Distinguished Alumni award in October 2018.
