The “Some Things Good” Endowed Scholarship in honor of Sharon Alice Moore

The “Some Things Good” Endowed Scholarship in honor of Sharon Alice Moore is established by Steve B. Moore, Erin Moore Gilbert, Shanon Alanah Moore, Dillon Cleary Moore, and McLean Lindsey Morrow. Sharon Alice Pope was born on November 19, 1956, to Alice and Elwood Pope in Trenton, New Jersey. Young for her grade, she left for college at seventeen. She spent her first year as a studio art major at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, eventually transferring to Sam Houston State University. Sharon met her husband, Steve, in college and they were married in Memphis, Tennessee on July 4, 1981. Together, the couple had four lovely children. Being a wife and mother never slowed Sharon down, and her fiery spirit allowed her to accomplish much and live a life filled with love, fun, and family. Sharon’s family states that “She was an artist. A prankster. A seeker. A healer. She was ours, and she was entirely her own.” It is her family’s wish that this endowment will provide financial assistance to selected students in her memory.
