Ola Mae St. Germain Endowed Scholarship
The Ola Mae St. Germain Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of Ola Mae (Hinson) St. Germain. Ola Mae was born in Harrisburg, Texas on August 19, 1920, to Frank and Eunice May Hinson and had three sisters. She grew up in Humble, Texas with her family before entering SHSU Teachers College in September of 1936. Ola Mae majored in Business Administration with a minor in English and graduated in August of 1939 with a Bachelor of Science and a high school teaching certificate. She went on to teach for a number of years. Ola Mae later married Raymond John St. Germain, and together they lived in Galveston, Texas where she would live for 65 years and become a prominent businesswoman and longtime member of the Galveston Country Club.
