William "Bill" Jeffrey Criminal Justice Endowed Scholarship
From a young age Bill Jeffrey knew he wanted to be a police officer. He graduated from Spring High School in 1985 and went on to study criminal justice at Sam Houston State University. After graduation, Bill served with the United States Navy before joining the Houston Police Department Academy class #140 in 1990. During his tenure with the police department, Bill was assigned to the North Division as a patrol officer. He then joined the South Central Division as a patrol officer and served on the tactical unit before devoting more than 10 years to the Major Offenders Warrant Unit with End of Watch on September 20, 2021. Bill is survived by his wife who is a retired office with the Houston Police Department. Bill would be so proud and honored to financially help a student at SHSU with this scholarship as they earn their degree in criminal justice and go on to make a difference in the world just as he did.
