Don and Janet McMillan Endowed Scholarship

Scott McMillan established this scholarship in honor and memory of his parent, Don and Janet McMillan. Both of his parents grew up in small, rural towns and each came to Huntsville to attend Sam Houston State University. They married in 1968 and made a home in Huntsville, TX. Don worked in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice while his wife was a school teacher, mainly teaching history and language arts. Janet’s passion for history, along with help from others, ultimately lead to the creation of the Hearts Veterans’ Museum in Huntsville, TX
