Arleigh B Templeton Endowed Graduate Fellow

This endowment was established in honor of former SHSU President Arleigh Brantley Templeton by alum Dan Beto. The Templeton Graduate Fellows Experience will provide an opportunity for an SHSU Graduate Student who shows leadership potential to accomplish a project that benefits the community. The Templeton Fellow will work on the project they have designed and proposed with the support of The Center for Community Engagement and the Graduate School to turn skills and knowledge into action for the good of communities. Applicants must ask a faculty member to act as a mentor to guide them in their project. To be eligible for this award, students are required to be enrolled as a student for the upcoming summer/fall or fall/spring semesters. Toward the end of the final semester, those selected for this honor will be required to present the results of their community leadership project in several venues.

The recipient must be a full or part time graduate or doctoral student taking a minimum of 6 credit hours, in good standing, and enrolled at SHSU. The award recipient must have their proposed project approved by the Center for Community Engagement, and it must benefit the community within a specific time frame.
