Drs. Robert (Bob) and Mary Barnes Harris Endowed Scholarship

The Drs. Robert (Bob) and Mary Barnes Harris Endowed Scholarship was established by John F. Harris in memory of his father Robert Harris and in honor of his mother Mary Barnes Harris, a former faculty member at Sam Houston State University. Dr. Mary Harris was a professor at SHSU in the department of Family and Consumer Sciences from 1975 until her retirement in 2003. Dr. Robert Harris received his Bachelor and Masters degrees from SHSU in Education. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards at a minimum of $4,000 each to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year.
