Senior Class Legacy Endowed Scholarship

The Senior Class Legacy program was created to promote a culture of giving back among students before they graduate from SHSU. The program started with the Seniors of the Class of 2012 raising $1,000 and has grown to average $10,000 from Seniors per class year. With the May 2024 graduating class, the Senior Class Legacy Scholarship has raised over $100,000 from students for students. The Office of Annual Giving thought this was the perfect milestone to transition this scholarship from an annual scholarship to an endowed scholarship so that it may remain at Sam Houston State University in perpetuity to remind students that philanthropy should begin as a student and is vital to the success of our Bearkats and the day to day operations of SHSU.
