Joshua Farris Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Joshua “Josh” was a young man whose life exemplified the joy of living in Christ. He was an inspiration to hundreds of friends and family. Josh was an extraordinary athlete who loved to compete. One of Josh’s proudest athletic achievements was winning the 2004 Region IX finals in the calf roping event. Josh graduated as valedictorian from Coldspring-Oakhurst High School in 2004 and enrolled in Sam Houston State University. At SHSU, Josh was a member of the rodeo team for four years and graduated with his BBA in management. He then continued pursuing his master at SHSU. The most important thing to know about Joshua was his love for the lord. We have peace knowing that Josh is at the right hand of Jesus waiting/or our arrival in Glory. The donors of this scholarship consist of Joshua’s father, James M. Farris, and stepmother, Cynthia, Joshua’s mother, Tania Lingor, and stepfather, Michael Joshua’s brother, James R. Farris and sister-in-law, Sarah. Joshua’s father. mother and brother are all graduates of Sam Houston State University.
