Sparks Veasey III, MD, JD Memorial Prize

The Sparks Veasey, III, MD, JD Memorial Prize was established by Dr. Sarah Kerrigan in memory of Sparks Veasey, III, MD, JD. Dr. Sparks Veasey was a distinguished forensic educator and practitioner, specializing in both forensic pathology and law. He served students and faculty at SHSU for over a decade in a variety of roles, including as Director of the Forensic Science Program. Dr. Veasey’s accomplishments as a professor and teacher were matched by his extraordinary service to others and his strong-willed commitment to achieve the greater-good as a forensic practitioner. This prize memorializes those qualities which he himself exemplified.
