James F. and Nancy P. Gaertner Presidential Endowed Scholarship

The 12th President of Sam Houston State University James F. Gaertner and First Lady Nancy P. Gaertner have provided constant, effective leadership to SHSU since August 21, 2001. Dr. Gaertner retired on August 31, 2010 after more than nine years of dedicated service which included an impressive list of major accomplishments that raised the image and enhanced the academic stature of the university. In honor of their many contributions of time and resources to Sam Houston State University, the friends, family and colleagues of James and Nancy Gaertner established this endowed scholarship to award outstanding students.
