Lozano Family Scholarship
The high school sweethearts married in San Antonio when Felix came home from tour of duty in Korea with the U.S. Air Force, spending the next six years together at air bases in Georgia and Texas. After Sergeant Lozano was honorably discharged, he and Blanca settled in Fort Worth and raised four sons and a daughter in a tightly-knit family. Through good times and hard times, they worked to provide their children with the best life they could — always believing the American Dream was what they made it. Helping build that dream, Blanca cared for other kids whose mothers worked, including those whose moms taught at the elementary school across the street or just needed a place to stash their offspring while they ran to the corner grocery. Together Felix and Blanca instilled in their children – as well as their proxy kids – the values of faith, hard work, education and the importance of giving back to their community through church, school and neighborhood activities. All five offspring grew up to become productive American citizens, successful leaders in business and politics, and continued their heritage by rewarding their parents with loving, happy families of their own. May those who benefit from this endowment reach their educational goals and achieve the success and happiness in life that Felix and Blanca created in theirs.
