Chris Pickren Memorial Scholarship

The Chris Pickren Memorial Scholarship was established by Melissa Davis in memory of her first cousin, Christopher Thomas Pickren, who was tragically killed in a shooting accident in May 2007. Chris was a sophomore criminal justice major and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Sam Houston at the time of his death. It is the Donor’s intent to provide one or more annual scholarship awards at a minimum of $1,000 each to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
