Joe Glenn Burleson Agribusiness Endowed Scholarship
The Joe Glenn Burleson Agribusiness Endowed Scholarship was established with proceeds from the Sunlock M. and Doris L. Burleson estates in memory of their only son, Joe Glenn Burleson. Joe Glenn was a 1959 graduate of Sam Houston State University. While at SHSU, he was a member and treasurer of the Esquire Club, now Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He was also a member of the Business Administration Club, Sociology Club, Pioneer Roundup Association and the Future Business Leaders of America. Joe Glenn Burleson was killed in a automobile accident on October 27, 1959 in route to attend SHSU’s Homecoming. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide four annual scholarship awards to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester.
