Jerry and Sandra Streater Endowed Scholarship

The Jerry and Sandra Streater Endowed Scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Streater of Conroe, Texas. Mr. Streater graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He served on the SHSU Alumni Association board from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Streater is currently a member of the Conroe City Council and recently served as Mayor Pro Tem, and represents the City of Conroe in Austin regarding legislative issues affecting municipalities. It is the Donors’ intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards at a minimum of $1,000 each to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. Scholarship awards shall not exceed 80% of the earnings of the endowment. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
