SHSU Parents' Association Endowed Scholarship

The Parents’ Association originated in 1925 when Sam Houston State Teachers College celebrated its first Parents’ Day. It was such a success that the association elected officers and officially became the Parents’ Association on November 5, 1926. In 1979 the Association incorporated as a non-profit organization. The membership consists of parents and friends of students of Sam Houston State University. Sam Houston State University Parents’ Association exists to provide the opportunity and vehicle for cooperative participation in activities and matters which demonstrate that caring continues when students leave home to pursue higher education.
