Weldon Hall, Jr. Endowed Scholarship in Art
The Weldon Hall, Jr. Endowed Scholarship in Art was established through the estate of Weldon Hall, Jr. Originally from Dodge, TX, the Hall family owned and operated a lumberyard on Avenue L in Huntsville, TX. Mr. Hall’s father, Weldon Hall, Sr., worked in the lumber yard to send his children to school. Weldon Hall, Jr. received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Sam Houston State University in 1942. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. Scholarship awards shall not exceed the earnings of the endowment. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
