Shenna Oriabure Criminal Justice Scholarship
Shenna began her journey in higher education at Sam Houston State University in the fall of 2000. while attending SHSU she was an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society, Alpha Chi, National Association of Black Accountants, African Student Association, and several other organizations. Shenna graduated from the Sam Houston State University Colleges of Criminal Justice in 2004, Magna Cum Laude.
In life Shenna continues to strive for further knowledge and understanding to be a change agent. Shenna is active in the Nigerian community in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and has created a continuing education seminar to help professionals with culturally competent practice with West-African Immigrants. In the Esan language, Oriabure meant “it is people we go to for help.” Shenna wants this legacy foretold by her surname to continue. The continuation will be in honor of her parents, culture, and community.
