Judge John P. McAdams Jr. Memorial Rodeo Scholarship

Judge John P. McAdams Jr. held the office of Justice of the Peace in Chambers County for twenty-five years, longer than any other judge in Precinct One at the time of his retirement. Education was very important to him, therefore his wife, Dr. LeBland McAdams, chose to honor his memory by establishing this scholarship. Dr. McAdams graduated from SHSU in 1956 with a degree in Home Economics, eventually earning her doctorate from Texas Woman’s University. Dr. McAdams returned to SHSU in 1964 to teach in the Department of Home Economics.
