Harry and Mabel Brewton Endowed Scholarship

Harry Brewton entered Sam Houston Normal Institute in the early 1920’s and received his Bachelor of Science in Teaching from the newly named Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1924. He and Mabel devoted their lives to teaching in Texas public schools. This scholarship was established in 1981 with proceeds from the estate of Harry and Mabel Brewton. These funds are to be dedicated toward the improvement of the teaching of mathematics in the elementary and secondary schools..
