Myron A. Balcom Industrial Technology Endowed Scholarship

Myron Balcom earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts from SHSU which was instrumental in obtaining and retaining a great position with Mobil Oil Company. He retired after thirty-five years as a mechanical supervisor. During his years with Mobil Oil, he had the pleasure of working for two years in Saudi Arabia and numerous locations throughout the United States. His fondest memories of his years at Sam Houston State University include President Harmon Lowman, Dr. Ruth Land, Math Department, and Victor Randel, Industrial Arts Department Chair. This scholarship was established by the donor in hopes to inspire students to reach for their dreams.
