Raymond and Jan Patschke College of Business Scholarship
Raymond A. Patschke, born in Elgin, Texas in 1944. He became the first generation in his family to graduate from high school and college. The road through college was not easy. The first two years he went to Blinn Junior College, commuting each day from the farm to Brenham and then returning home to work on the farm. After graduating from Blinn, he was able to continue at Sam Houston, receiving his undergraduate degree in Agricultural Business. He also earned a Masters’ degree in Business and Finance from Sam Houston, while teaching science and math at Cleveland High School, commuting from Huntsville, taking classes at night and during the summer. In 1975, Raymond met his wife, Jan Lundgren in Austin. She was a sales representative for John Roberts College rings. They have always enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. Therefore, with early retirement, they started doing more of all these activities. They could finally afford to own a ranch to go along with their passion for hunting and a home in Colorado to enjoy the great outdoors. Since 1999, they turned their desire to take and develop something to the ranch development area and have bought, enjoyed, enhanced, and sold three ranches in South Texas. In the summer, they go to their home in Silverthorne, CO. to enjoy hiking. golf, jeeping and the cool weather. The rest of the year, they are at home in Austin or traveling. Raymond and his wife. Jan, enjoy a wonderful life that has been filled with all kinds of challenges and successes!
