Robert A. and Carolyn W. Werner Endowed Scholarship

The Robert A. and Carolyn W. Werner Endowed Scholarship was established by Carol L. Werner of Houston, Texas in honor of her mother Carolyn Wright Werner and in memory of her father Robert Alexander Werner. The Werner family have deep roots in Texas as well as at Sam Houston State University; Carolyn Werner graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1943, Robert Werner graduated in 1949 and their daughter Lynne graduated in 1968. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards at a minimum of $1,000 each to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. Scholarship awards shall not exceed 80% of the earnings of the endowment. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
