Willie Frank Hall and Virginia Hall Scholarship Trust

The Willie Frank Hall and Virginia Hall Scholarship was established by Mr. Willie Frank Hall in 1988 with proceeds from the Willie Frank Hall and Virginia Hall Trust to provide financial assistance to agriculture education majors. Willie F. Hall entered Sam Houston Normal Institute in 1919 and was a football player on the SHNI team. He and his wife, Virginia, had one daughter, Dorothy Hall Burgess. Dorothy married Alton W. Burgess, 1948 and 1950 graduate of Sam Houston State Teachers College, who was instrumental in the establishment of the Willie Frank Hall Trust with SHSU as the beneficiary. It is the Donor’s intent to provide two annual scholarship awards to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. Scholarship awards shall not exceed the earnings of the trust. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
