Edwin G. Sandhop, Jr. Endowed Scholarship

The Edwin G. Sandhop, Jr. Endowed Scholarship was established by Genevieve and Edwin G. Sandhop, Jr. to provide financial assistance to students majoring in Accounting or Finance at Sam Houston State University. Ed Sandhop received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Sam Houston in 1948 after serving as a member of the distinguished Flying Tigers, the 1st American Volunteer Group to serve in World War II. He was employed by Gibbs Brothers and Company LP in Huntsville for over 60 years. Genevieve Sandhop received her bachelor of arts in English in 1956 and her master of arts in English in 1960, both from Sam Houston. After graduation she was a professor of English at the university until her retirement.
