Lovell Family Endowed Scholarship
Dr. Ross Lovell established the K.K. Lovell Memorial Endowment in memory of his father in 1983. The endowment title was changed in 2013 to the Lovell Family Endowed Scholarship. Dr. Ross Lovell earned his BBA in Management at Texas A&M and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Infantry. Using his veteran’s benefits, he attended the University of Houston at night to earn his Master’s in Management. He later heard a PhD in Operations Management at the University of Texas at Austin so that he could become a professor. His long career as a professor in higher education began with fives years as an associate professor at the University of Houston. Next he helped establish the College of Business Administration in Ecuador for 2.5 years. He returned to the United States to Western Illinois University as the Associate Dean of the College of Business Administration. Dr. Lovell ended his career after spending 30 years at SHSU as the Chair of the Department of Management and Marketing.
