Reason2Race Scholarship

Bill earned his Bachelor in Business Administration in General Business Administration at Sam Houston State University in 1991. When Bill attended SHSU John Lumley, Head Track and Field Coach gave him an opportunity to be a student assistant with the Track & Field team. The position included a small scholarship. While the amount was not much, it helped pay for books and tuition. The opportunity gave him an environment to learn how to lead a group, empower others, and make a difference. He has been able to take the lessons learned while being a part of that team to the business teams he worked with in his career. Bill wanted to provide this same opportunity that he had to others. In 2002, as a partner in the Bridgeway Charitable Foundation, the foundation, at the designation of Bill, established a scholarship to benefit a Track & Field athlete. The Track & Field team has been very successful over the past few years and Bill has a sense of pride in being a part of that success through this scholarship. Bill now works with his wife, Gabrielle, in their new business, Reason2Race. Because of the difference his past scholarship support has made in student’s lives, he is establishing this scholarship.
