Betty Loe Dodd Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Betty Loe Dodd Memorial Endowed Scholarship is established by David “Harold” Dodd of Spring, Texas in memory of his mother, Betty Loe Dodd. Betty was born in Harlingen, TX, raised in Texarkana and graduated from Texarkana High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from University of North Texas in January of 1957, and a Master of Education from SHSU in 1974. Betty’s career was that of an educator and administrator for Klein Independent School District. She credits much of her success to the education and support she received from SHSU, and her Klein ISD colleagues. Harold and his family wish to honor his mother with this endowed scholarship to support future educators, and to also serve as a vehicle for her many supporters in education to both honor and show their respects for the role Betty played in their lives and careers.
