David Czervinske Endowed Scholarship

The David Czervinske Endowed Scholarship was established by the Huntsville Children’s Choir in memory of David Czervinske to provide financial assistance to deserving music students. David upheld the highest academic and musical standards and although it was ended all to briefly with his passing in 1996, he established a career as a teacher and children’s choir director of the highest caliber. He completed his Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music all at Sam Houston State University. While teaching elementary music in the Huntsville Public Schools, David, along with Joan Howey, also co-founded and co-directed the Huntsville Children’s Choir. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards at a minimum of $250 each to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. Scholarship awards shall not exceed the earnings of the endowment. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
