Dr. James E. Gilmore Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. James E. Gilmore Scholarship was established by Charles E. Amato and Gary Dudley, both SHSU alumni and owners of Southwest Business Corporation of San Antonio, TX, in honor of Dr. James E. Gilmore. Dr. Gilmore dedicated over 40 years of his academic career to Sam Houston State University, serving as chair of the department of General Business and Finance, the Associate Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dean of the College of Business Administration, and Vice President of Academic Affairs. In 1997 he was honored as a Distinguished SHSU Alumnus along with the honorary title “Dean and Professor Emeritus,” and was initiated into the college of Business Hall of Fame in 2006.
