Cecil R. Hallum Statistics Scholarship

Dr. Cecil R. Hallum joined the faculty of the SHSU Department of Mathematics and Statistics in 1991. He helped create the first M. S. Statistics in 1995. The program has grown to be one of the most respected in the southern U.S. and graduates approximately 7 students per year, taught by six statistics faculty. Over the years. Dr. Hallum has nurtured countless students and young professionals into successful careers. The scholarship was established by colleagues, friends and former students of Dr. Hallum to honor his contribution to the University and profession and to assist aspiring new statisticians to earn a graduate degree from SHSU.
