Patricia and Jim Grossie Endowed Scholarship

Jim Grossie was born May 19, 1936, and graduated from Huntsville High School in 1954. After obtaining bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Sam Houston State University in 1959, a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in 1963, he was granted a National Institutes of Health post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology. In 2003, he retired from the Department of Physiology at The Ohio State University after 38 years of teaching and research.
Patricia is a native of Iowa and served as a probation officer for the Juvenile Court in Chicago, Illinois for several years before following her husband Jim to Columbus, Ohio. Here she served the court in similar work before joining the Ohio Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
