Ron Mafrige Men's Basketball

Mr. Ron Mafrige, BBA ‘60, formed his own Commercial Real estate Brokerage business, Ron Mafrige Enterprises, in 1968. A successful business man who helped pioneer the region’s suburban office development, he supported the University for a number of years with his gifts and his service. Mr. Mafrige was the first Life Endowed Member of the Sam Houston State University Alumni Association and served on its board of directors. He served as a member of the Century Club, College of Business Administration Alumni Association, SHSU Bearkat Club, T Association Letterman Club, Sam Houston Memorial Museum, and President’s Circle. He has also served as an officer on the College of Business Advisory Council and the Kat Pack Club. Mr. Mafrige supported many areas of Sam Houston State University. Mr. Mafrige served as the National Chair of the Share the Vision Capital Campaign, the first capital campaign in Sam Houston State University’s 127 year history, which was successfully completed on August 31, 2010. He was named a Distinguished Alumni in 1997 and received the SHSU Alumni Service Award in 2004. In 2006, he was inducted into the College of Business Administration Hall of Honor. Mr. Mafrige received the rank of Major in the Army Reserve before retiring. Ron traveled around the world 6-7 times, visiting more than 166 countries. He passed away on August 14, 2011.
