The Center for Community Engagement Photo Contest Scholarship

The Center for Community Engagement invites you to submit photos from your Academic Community Engagement course(s) for a chance to be awarded $250! Second and third place winners will also be selected and will receive a swag bag. Winners will be decided by a panel of judges. All photos submitted must be taken during the course of the current semester. You can submit up to four photos from your Academic Community Engagement project via a Google Drive, OneDrive, or similar link below. Photos can include classmates, participants, professors – you name it! Winning submissions will be displayed in the office or on campus.
If you are not in a public space (ex. Downtown Huntsville) and are photographing a person to where their face is recognizable in the photo, we ask that you have them sign a model release form: (Copy and paste this link into a browser to obtain the form).
Please include the signed form along with your photos in the submission link.

Helpful Tips:
• Files should be jpg, jpeg, png, or heic. Please submit high resolution photos.
• Make sure whatever link you use allows us to download the files.
• Be sure to take at least an equal number of horizontal photos as you do vertical.
• If using your phone, try out portrait mode!
• Tell a story through your photo(s)!
• Lighting is key.
• Get creative!

Important Advisory:
All photos must be your original work. Collage, cropping, and use of software such as Photoshop is permitted.
By entering the contest, you acknowledge that the submitted photos are original works created solely by you. All submissions become the property of the Center for Community Engagement at Sam Houston State University, which will enjoy full, non-exclusive rights of use and circulation (with attribution to the photographer). If you submit a photo it is understood that you have granted this right.

Qualification: Must be a student in an ACE course during the current semester – must fill in all fields below
