Brian K. Hall "Covering the Bases" Scholarship in memory of Barbara Edwards Ziglar

Brian graduated from Sam Houston Slate University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing. While attending Sam Houston he was involved in Theta Chi Fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi, played baseball and was in the marching band. Brian completed post-graduate work at Texas A&M and Rice University. He started his career in energy with Diamond Shamrock (now Valero) in 1989, and recently completed his 25th year with Shell Oil Company in Houston as Manager, Supplier Diversity & Outreach, Small Business Officer. Brian’s leadership expands into the community through philanthropy and volunteer roles with various organizations, including 15 years as National Board Vice President of Theta Chi Fraternity, Lifetime Member of the Houston livestock Show & Rodeo, lifetime Member and Board Member providing free temporary housing for, cancer patients/families seeking treatment in the Texas Medical Center.

“1. As a scholarship recipient, you are expected to attend meetings when invited and when it does not conflict with academic classes. 2. The scholarship will be withdrawn during any disciplinary, probationary, or suspension period incurred while enrolled at Sam Houston State University.
3. Must be a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior student in good standing, majoring in any discipline in the College of Business Administration, have Greek affiliation, graduated from a Texas High School, have strong volunteer experience during previous and current semester, and write an essay ""Why Volunteering Matters,"" in 200 words or less.
4. The recipient must agree to the release of information to the donor such as name, hometown, major, GPA, etc. "
