Bonnie Baker Thorne Endowed Scholarship

The Department of Library Science, friends and students of Dr. Bonnie Baker Thorne, and Dr. Lesta Burt established the Bonnie Baker Thorne Scholarship in honor of Dr. Thorne, former Chair of Library Science at Sam Houston State University. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
