Assam Scholarship Honors Research

The Assam Scholarship was established by Hiranya K. Nath in honor of his home state in India. Assam, the eastern corridor to Southeast Asia, is a region in India that holds enormous potential for economic growth and is rich in natural resources with a pool of highly talented professionals, well-groomed in modern science and technology. Dr. Hiranya K. Nath is a professor of Economics and International Business at Sam Houston State University. It is the Donor’s intent to provide one or more annual scholarship awards to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester.
