Tom Broussard, Ph.D., Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Tom Broussard, Ph.D., Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Broussard’s spouse, Ms. H. Pamela Schoch, and other family, friends, and colleagues, in memory of and tribute to Dr. Broussard, an outstanding Sam Houston State University alumnus and criminal justice professional, who served Bexar County as Chief Probation Officer from 1982 to 1990. Dr. Broussard relocated in 1990 to Dallas, serving as director of Juvenile Services and Chief Probation Officer until his untimely death in a skiing accident while on vacation in March 1991. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards to be announced in the spring and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
