Kindred Communication Scholarship

The Kindred Communications Management Scholarship is established by Kiersten Kindred of Houston, Texas. Kiersten Kindred Clayton was raised by a loving single mother, godmother, and grandmother in Houston, TX. Kiersten graduated Magna Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. Kiersten’s natural passion for linking people to their lifelong goals led her to become a certified life and career coach and Founder/CEO of Kindred Communications, a boutique recruiting firm with a focus on diversity and inclusion placement. Because of Kiersten’s enthusiasm for helping others find their ultimate dream careers, she has penned self-help journals and books including the popular career book, “Five Steps to Landing Your Dream Career: A College and Post-College Guide.” Kiersten received scholarships during her time at SHSU and it encouraged her to keep going, make an impact, and strive for the best in life. It was important for her to award the Kindred Communications Management Scholarship to a current SHSU student, who comes from a single parent home, because she wants to empower them to make an impact on the world
