Arleigh B Templeton Endowed Graduate Fellow

This endowment was established in honor of former SHSU President Arleigh Brantley Templeton by alum Dan Beto. The Templeton Fellows Experience will provide an opportunity for an SHSU Graduate Student who shows leadership potential to accomplish a project that benefits the community.

A Fellows Committee created by the Center for Community Engagement shall select one or more recipients for the award each year. A recipient must be a full or part time graduate or doctoral student taking a minimum of 6 credit hours, in good standing, and enrolled at SHSU. The award recipient must have their proposed project approved by the Center for Community Engagement, and it must benefit the community within a specific time frame. Applicants must ask a faculty member to act as a mentor to guide them in their project. Financial need is not considered, and any student can apply regardless of citizenship.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Describe the community need, how you plan on meeting this need, and how your project will impact the community. Attach a Word Document, or PDF proposal here.
  2. Please attach a letter of recommendation from your chosen faculty mentor.
