Baldwin Field Camp Scholarship

Chris Baldwin served as Professor of sedimentology and stratigraphy in the Department of Geogrphy and Geology from 1994 to 2012. in his tenure he acted a sDean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Chair for the Department of Geography and Geology. Over his career he served various research, teaching and administrative roles at Boston University, University of Marseilles, University of East Anglia, Open University, Univeristy of Cambridge, adn University of Maryland. He earned a B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool in 1971 and 1977 respectively.
Ryan Lewis earned his Bachelor of Science in Geology in 2010 from Sam Houston State University, Master of Science in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College, London in 2011, and is currently employed as a geologist at BHP Billiton Petroleum in Houston. He has worked in the oilfield since 2003, working his way from roustabout, to drilling fluids consultant, intern geologist to professional petroleum geologist.
The donor, with a matching gift from BHP Billiton Petroleum, will provide funding for one or more annual scholarship awards at a minimum of $750.
This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
