Blinka Endowed Football Scholarship

The Blinka Endowed Football Scholarship was established by Mr. Stan Blinka of Export, Pennsylvania, in honor of his parents Edwin and Frances Blinka of Somerville, Texas. Stan is a 1979 and 1984 graduate of Sam Houston State University. He played football at SHSU and was a 5th round draft pick for the New York Jets in 1979 NFL Draft. It is the Donor’s intent for the endowment to provide one or more annual scholarship awards each to be announced at the annual “Football Kick-Off Banquet” and disbursed the following academic year, half in the fall and the remaining half in the spring semester. Scholarship awards shall not exceed the earnings of the endowment. This scholarship was established to assist with education expenses.
